Sharon found support and a new job with the National Careers Service
Sharon got in touch with the National Careers Service after finishing her degree in Psychology, Counselling and Therapies.
She'd been out of paid work for several years after taking a career break, and chose to return to education as a mature student. After graduating, she was finding it hard to find suitable roles.
She'd been applying for jobs but wasn't getting any feedback in return, and so she reached out to the National Careers Service after hearing about it from a friend years before.
I thought, you know what - time is going! I really want a job, I'm ready now, so let me let me just see what I can get from the National Careers Service.
After sharing information about her past experiences and career interests, it came up that there were positions available to become a Careers Adviser within the National Careers Service - and Sharon sounded perfect for the role!
With support from her adviser, she applied, interviewed, and was successful!
So - how does she feel a few months in to her new role?
I absolutely love it. I have completely transformed because of it. I'm learning from my team and from the people that I meet - they are all amazing.
