Free Level 1 Preparing to Work in Schools In-Person Course

Learn in-person at our Nottingham City Training Centre.

This fully-funded qualification is designed for learners who are thinking of working in a school setting including: young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs or where English is an additional language. 

What will you learn? 

  • Skills to work in an Education environment
  • Knowledge needed to work within Education
  • Understand schools as organisations
  • How to keep children and young people healthy, safe and well
  • How to communicate with children, young people and adults

What can I do next? 

Upon completion of your Level 1 Certificate you have a number of new opportunities: 

  • Apply confidently for entry level job vacancies in your chosen industry  
  • Apply for a Level 2 apprenticeship 
  • Progress onto a Level 2 course

Have you lived in the UK for 3 years?

If the answer is yes you might be able to complete our courses. To be eligible you must also meet the following criteria:

  • I currently live in England
  • I was aged 19 or over on 31st August 2023
  • I have lived in the UK or EU/EEA for the last 3 years*
  • I am actively seeking employment OR earning below £25,000 annually**
